This year's BCS National Championship game will feature two teams sporting Heisman Trophy winners at quarterback. It promises to be one heck of a game, tune in January 8, 2009.
 

OU Sooner Headlines

The Oklahoma Sooners crushed Missouri 62-21 in the Big 12 Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium. The victory gave OU (12-1), Number 2 in the BCS standings, its third consecutive Big 12 title.

In one of the most competitive Heisman races in years, Sooner sophomore quarterback Sam Bradford was awarded the 74th Heisman Trophy. Only Notre Dame, Ohio State and Southern California have more Heisman winners than OU.

Oklahoma defensive tackle DeMarcus Granger has undergone back surgery and will not play in the BCS National Championship against Florida!

Jack Mildren, OU's Godfather of the Wishbone, passed away May 22, 2008 at the age of 58. Mildren lost a two-year battle with stomach cancer. He will be missed.

The University of Oklahoma school colors may have evolved over the years, but you can ask any self-respecting Sooner what the colors are and they will proudly shout: Crimson and Cream.

OU boasts a tradition of excellence that few schools can rival. Over the years, Sooner squads have combined for 22 team national championships including seven in football, seven in wrestling, four in men's gymnastics, two in baseball, one in men's golf and one in softball.

Boomer Sooner - the OU Fight Song is one of the most infamous college fight songs in the nation. It is performed by The OU Marching Band at most Sooner athletic events and immediately evokes passion from OU fans and evokes chills down the spines of those who dare to oppose them.
